March 1, 2007 -- Spring is just around the corner. This is typically the busiest time of the year in the real estate biz. Is the market heating up? Are we coming back after a dismal 2006? Let's examine the facts: Destin Single Family Homes Sold Jan - Feb Pending Total 2006 30 26 56 2007 23 22 45 2007 was met with extreme optimism. Realtors everywhere were singing "the slump is over", "phones are ringing" etc. However, as we can see above 2007 has actually been slower than 2006 for Destin! A look at the Destin Seller's Sentiment for 2007 shows us an amazing 461 price reductions to 52 price increases: Destin PRICE CHANGES (42 decreases, 9 increases) for 1/1 - 1/8 Destin PRICE CHANGES (50 decreases, 6 increases) for 1/8 - 1/15 Destin PRICE CHANGES (57 decreases, 9 increases) for 1/15 - 1/22 Destin PRICE CHANGES (72 decreases, 5 increases) for 1/22 - 1/29 Destin PRICE CHANGES (46 decreases, 3 increases) for 1/29 - 2/5 Destin PRICE CHANGES (54 decreases, 6 increases) for 2/5 - 2/12 Destin PRICE CHANGES (66 decreases, 3 increases) for 2/12 - 2/19 Destin PRICE CHANGES (74 decreases, 11 increases) for 2/19 - 2/26 Prices are still coming down.
